Prices are what venues publish on their own sites, checked in September 2026, not quotes. The Penang kenduri caterers we checked don't publish wedding prices, so that row has no figure. Hotels price wedding packages per table with a minimum number of tables, so the per-table figure is the one to anchor on.

How to keep the cost down
- Marry on a weekday or off-peak month. Weekend Saturdays are the most contested dates; venues are far more flexible mid-week.
- Choose per-guest catering if numbers are small. A kenduri or buffet priced per head beats a per-table banquet when you are under a full table.
- Pick a venue that waives hire. Hotel ballrooms usually drop the hire fee against a minimum table count.
- Trim the guest list before anything else. Catering is priced per table or per guest, so every guest you drop comes straight off the catering bill.
